Teach basic technology classes like Internet Safety, Smartphone Basics, Facebook for Beginners, Tech Help, and more to older adults in your community. Travel to locations like libraries, senior centers, and community centers in your area and surrounding counties to teach basic tech classes to older adults who want to learn!
Ideal candidate is comfortable with technology, patient, excited to teach and learn, loves helping people, and enjoys driving.
Hours are flexible based on your schedule, with evening and weekend hours available. Curriculum is provided and travel time and fuel expenses will be compensated.
This role will include travel to class locations, to meeting points for pick-up and drop-off of equipment, and to local areas to post flyers and share brochures. Additional tasks such as writing tutorials, recording videos, creating marketing materials, and more are also available.
This is a part-time role, averaging 0-10 hours per week depending on location and scheduling. This position requires travel through Wisconsin (usually averaging 90-150 miles per class). Travel time and fuel expenses will be reimbursed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach adults basic computer, technology, and internet classes.
- Travel to various locations within your county to pick up equipment, post flyers, and teach courses.
- Track attendance and feedback, reporting data to supervisor on a regular basis.
- Advertise upcoming classes to local businesses, making phone calls, sending emails, and posting flyers and brochures.
- Opportunity to write blog posts, record video tutorials, design curriculum, create marketing content, and more.
Required Skills and Education
- Basic knowledge of computers, smartphones, and day-to-day technology.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and other business software applications preferred.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Bachelor’s Degree in education, information technology, or related field, or related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred.
