New Bug Tussel Fiber Reaches La Prairie
LA PRAIRIE, Wis. (May 16, 2025) – New fiber in the Town of La Prairie brings residents expanded options for high-speed internet service. The Bug Tussel fiber segment, dubbed “Montana Trail”, is now live and gives residents in nearly 100 homes and businesses the opportunity to connect.
The new fiber, located in the southeast part of town, runs north from ELT Townline Road along South County Road G, east along East State Road 11, and into the circle of roads that offshoot from South Read Road. The La Prairie project adds nearly 10 miles of fiber to Bug Tussel’s growing network in Rock County.
“Bringing high-speed connectivity to rural communities like La Prairie represents the core of Bug Tussel’s mission,” said Josh Holbrook, Chief Operating Officer of Bug Tussel. “Every new mile of fiber we deploy brings us closer to our goal of bridging the digital divide in Wisconsin’s underserved areas.”
Bug Tussel is building fiber and wireless infrastructure throughout Rock County to expand broadband access to residents. The project, launched in 2022 in partnership with Rock County, has passed nearly 8,100 homes and businesses. Bug Tussel has installed over 100 miles of fiber and nine wireless sites, expanding high-speed internet access throughout rural Rock County.
The company is currently working to extend fiber connectivity to the eastern portion of the Town of La Prairie. Bug Tussel anticipates live service being available to residents in eastern La Prairie in the coming months.
