New Bug Tussel Tower Expands Wireless in Buckman
NEW DENMARK, Wis. (April 17, 2025) – A new wireless tower in the Buckman area brings residents expanded options for high-speed internet service. The Bug Tussel tower is now live and gives residents in nearly 700 homes and businesses the opportunity to connect.
The tower, located near South County Road P, provides coverage to Buckman and surrounding areas. Residents in New Denmark and Eaton townships now have a new option for wireless internet service, expanding connectivity in these communities.
The Buckman tower is part of a larger Bug Tussel initiative to expand high-speed internet access across Brown County. The project, launched in 2023 in partnership with the county, was developed to deploy over 200 miles of fiber and several wireless towers throughout Brown County communities lacking in high-speed service. Today, Bug Tussel is constructing nearly 150 miles of fiber throughout the county. The remaining 50 miles await permit approval. Six wireless sites are now up and running, passing over 12,000 homes and businesses with potential service.
Residents near the Buckman tower may have spotted fiber construction crews in the area this spring. Work is expected to ramp up across the county as the weather improves.
“We’re thrilled to bring our high-speed internet service to the Buckman families through our collaboration with Brown County,” said Josh Holbrook, chief operating officer of Bug Tussel. “This project has helped us reach people who’ve been left behind and forgotten for too long.”
