
Bug Tussel Delivers 2-Gig Fiber Internet to Underserved Areas of Ixonia, Wisconsin
Ixonia, Wis. – (September 15, 2025) – More than 175 residents in Ixonia, WI now have access to high-speed fiber internet, thanks to Bug Tussel’s latest expansion. With blazing speeds of up to 2 Gbps, this upgrade empowers local homes and businesses with faster connectivity, supporting everything from remote work and streaming to e-commerce and online learning.
Expanding Coverage Countywide
The Ixonia rollout is part of a broader initiative with Jefferson County to bring fiber infrastructure to underserved communities. The project includes more than 150 miles of fiber, aiming to reach nearly 2,000 locations countywide, with 90 additional miles expected to go live within the next year.
Jefferson County and Bug Tussel developed this fiber project in partnership to expand broadband access to underserved areas. The network is designed as a fiber backbone that will serve as the foundation for future expansion, including planned last-mile projects in the Young Prairie area and other locations.
Service During Construction
While fiber construction continues, Bug Tussel is installing fixed wireless service at select county locations to provide Jefferson County residents with internet access as an immediate solution.
