Media invited to attend celebration marking activation of 25+ miles of backbone fiber in northwest Outagamie County

APPLETON, Wis. (August 25, 2025) – Outagamie County and Bug Tussel officials will host a fiber-lighting ceremony on Tuesday, September 30th at 11:00 AM to celebrate the recent activation of over 25 miles of high-speed fiber optic network in northwest Outagamie County.

The ceremony will commemorate the milestone achievement of bringing approximately 250 previously underserved homes, businesses, and institutions within reach of high-speed internet connectivity up to 2 Gbps in the Village of Bear Creek and areas north of the City of New London.

Media and members of the public are invited to attend this celebratory event, which will highlight the successful partnership between Bug Tussel and Outagamie County in addressing the digital divide in rural communities.
